Zaehnsdorf binding of half red leather, marbled boards and endpapers, five raised bands and spine stamed in gilt. Top edge gilt. The text block is gorgeous, with crisp pages and dynamite illustrations. The only flaw is the faintest of sunning to outer edge, not effecting the text or images. Binding looks great, the red remains punchy. A few small spots of rubbing near spine head and heel, faint wear to extremities. Three corners are rubbed through leather to varying degrees along edges, but remain flat and sharp in shape, and present as whole from the front. Infinitesimal sunning to spine leather. Despite all these details the book looks and feels beautiful, and handles as unread and barely aged. Tight binding. 6 x 9 inches. 512 pages. Very Good. Item #9033848
