New endpapers. xiii, [1], 556 pp., one folding color panorama, three of four folding maps, and ten full-page plates (1 color); ix, [2], 300 pp., one folding map, 35 full-page plates (18 color) and 11 woodcut text-figures. The color illustrations largely depict indigenous ornithological specimens and local antiquities, un-colored plates illustrate native reptiles, fishes, and fossils. Volume 1 is very clean, but lacks sheet two of the Map of Chile; volume 2 is foxed with damp-staining evident on the last four plates. Still a very nice set in an attractive modern binding.
